Aluminum Welding

Description: Learn the fundamentals of aluminum welding using both the GTAW and GMAW weld processes.

Apprentice Tutoring/Open Shop Night
Dates: Jan 12 & 26,Feb 9 & 23,March 8,15,22, 2012
Days: TH Time: 5:00pm - 8:00 pm Hrs: 3 per night
Description: Get extra help with your apprenticeship studies and/or use the facilities to upgrade your skills. Sheet Metal Worker apprentices can earn up to 3 hours Continuing Education credits per quarter.

Basic Rigging/Signaling
Dates: March 14 & 21, 2012
Days: W Time: 5:00pm – 9:00pm Hrs: 8
Description: This class will provide basic rigging information, including safe work practices, calculating loads, sling angles, types of hitches, sling types and inspection. There are hands on time along with class room information. Basic signaling is reviewed and a test given to provide required documentation of training for signaling.

Certified Welding Prep & Practice
Dates: One night for 6 weeks Jan 9 to Feb 13, 2012
Days: M Time: 5:00pm – 8:00pm Hrs: 3
Description: This program will include all welding processes. This class will provide time to practice for welding certifications that utilizes the AWS and ASME welding codes. Participants will be able to practice the testing and have their samples reviewed. Testing dates are to be scheduled on an as needed basis.

City of Seattle Refrigeration Lecense Prep Class
Dates: March 8 & 15, 2012
Days: Th Time: 5:00pm – 9:00pm Hrs: 8
Description: 16 hour test preparation class to help you prepare for the City of Seattle Journeyman Refrigeration Exam. Learn what is required to study and what paperwork will need to be submitted to the City of Seattle. Handouts and code information provided. You must have 2 years verified employment or recognized schooling and submit an affidavit of experience prior to taking the City of Seattle exam. 3 ring binder and highlighter required.

Core Curriculum Layout

Description: This class is designed to give students a head start (practice) on the shop assignments they will be assigned in the first two years of their apprenticeship. Math tutoring is also available. A must class for apprentices who are in need of improving their layout abilities.
